Hughes Memorial Weekly Update -Tuesday, June 4

Memory Verse

"When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.  And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting."
 -Acts 2:1-2

Thought For the Week
Unity helps set the atmosphere and prepares us to receive the power
 of the Holy Spirit!

Weekly prayer for the Homeless

PSALM 127-1
Unless the LORD builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted.  Unless the LORD protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good.

PRAYER: Faithful God, Thanks for the assurance of your awesome and eternal love.  Only your shelter, Lord withstands the fearful storms.  Only your shield can save us from the most evil foe.  May we be grateful in reaping from the wealth of your world; humble in enjoying the security of your mighty hand; and loving in sharing your gifts however small.  In Christ our Savior.   Amen.

Carl Cockburn, Lay Leader, Silver Spring UMC.
