Hughes Memorial Weekly Update -Tuesday, May 7

Memory Verse
"Peter put all of them outside, and then he knelt down and prayed.  He turned to the body and said, "Tabitha, get up."  Then she opened her eyes, and seeing Peter, she sat up."

Weekly prayer for the Homeless

MATTHEW 19:29
And anyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or property, for my sake, will receive a hundred times as much in return, and will inherit eternal life.

PRAYER: Almighty God, our heavenly father, we thank you for providing our basic needs of food, clothing and shelter, health, strength and energy, relatives, friends and acquaintances and the wisdom, knowledge and understanding to appreciate and enjoy these blessings. We thank you for this remarkable promise, wherein we stand assured, that there is no loss of things or relationships big enough to be compared to the temporal and eternal benefits we will enjoy, by putting you first.  For the hundredfold joy of knowing you, loving you and serving you above all else.  And yet, should we give up these comforts of life, it is only voluntary on our part.   But We know there are those, like the homeless, who through life circumstances have involuntarily given up the comfort of their homes and lost their possessions, even meaningful relationships.  They are forced to face undue hardships, humiliation and defeat.  We pray, Lord that you visit them in their hour of need.  Reveal yourself to them and turn their situation around.  Make a way for them through the red sea of their life.  Open doors and avenues of opportunity for them to a better, more fulfilled life and restore the years the locusts have eaten.  Let your will be done in their life this day and always.  This, in the matchless name of your son and our Lord, Jesus Christ we pray.  Amen.
