Hughes Memorial Weekly Update -Tuesday, March 12

Memory Verse
"For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord,
plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a
 future with hope."
 - Jeremiah 29:11

Thought For the Week
 Our Journey Continues...

Weekly prayer for the Homeless
 LUKE 12:33-34
Sell your possessions and give to those in need.  This will store up
treasure for in heaven!  And the purses of heaven never get old or
develop holes. Your treasure will be safe; no thief can steal it and
no moth can destroy it. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires
of your heart will also be.

PRAYER: O generous God of love, help us to practice and live the gospel of offering the sacrifice of ourselves to others.  Show us how our stuff takes up too much space in our hearts and hands.  We fail to see others in need, and to share with others in need.  Forgive us for our selfishness and turn us toward the doors of our sisters and brothers in need.  We know that all we have is yours, and our prayer is to be good stewards of your gifts, but not hoarders.  Guide us to places where your followers are in need, to share your gifts and make a difference in the lives of those we serve, through Jesus Christ our Savior.  Amen.

In honor of Katherine Breach, for her service to the homeless
