Thought For the Week

 Fasting, prayer and bible study are some of the ways
 we overcome the temptations in our lives.
    
 Community Prayer 
  • Prayers for the gun violence in our community and our country to come to an end
  • Prayers for all of our members who are homebound.
  • Prayers for all children and youth during this school year. 

Community Information   

    Inclement Weather Policy: During weekdays we will follow the local school system. So, if D.C. Public Schools are closed then the church is closed. During the weekend if the church is closed the voice mail greeting will indicate we are closed, we will also post the closing on our Facebook page and the church website and an e-mail will be sent. Be safe and always exercise caution while traveling.

This Washington Region Leadership Day includes the opportunity to learn and be inspired by six dynamic speakers and your choice of a workshop after lunch. Bring yourself, or bring a team of 3-12, and see what sparks of possibility are created.

    Prom time is quickly approaching for those young ladies that are in need of a prom gown or dress but may not be able to purchase at full price we are selling dresses for $10.00 and gowns for $20.00.
    (All proceeds will go to the winner of the essay contest)
    !!!!Wait!!!!
    All young ladies are encouraged to enter the essay contest.
    Essay Subject: Why is Education Important to Me?

    ·         The winner will get her gown and the doors to the closet will

               be opened to her 1hr before the others can enter.
    ·         She will also get her hair, nails done and accessories

               purchased.


    The essays are due by Friday, March 3, 2017 6:00PM sharp.

      "Art therapy uses creative art-making to improve a person’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Our workshop offers expressive and spiritual healing, led by Rev. Martina E. Martin, Provisional Deacon in the UMC Baltimore-Washington Conference, who is also a minister at Lincoln Park UMC. Learn how to increase your self-care while combating spiritual fatigue and stress. Rev. Martin is a Board Certified art therapist and a licensed professional counselor who helps individuals express themselves using creative arts."
